Brand refresh

A brand refresh is an update to a brand without necessarily changing the entire strategy or identity. It may involve an adjusted logo, an updated colour palette, new typography, clearer language or a modernised digital presence. The aim is to make the expression more relevant while retaining recognition.

What does a brand refresh involve in practice?

In practice, the team assesses what works in the current brand and what creates friction. The changes may be small or extensive, but they should support the organisation's goals and target audience. A refresh should be planned across the most important touchpoints, not just as a new logo file.

A brand refresh is relevant when the brand has a strong foundation but feels dated or inconsistent. See Rebranding, brand update and visual direction.
