Component properties are settings that make a component flexible without rebuilding the component itself. A property can control text, an image, a link, visibility or other content in a component. This allows the same component to be used in several variations with different values.
What do component properties involve in practice?
In practice, properties are defined on the component and set on each instance. A hero component may, for example, receive its own heading, introduction, button label and image. It is important to use clear names and limit the number of properties so the editor gets real flexibility without an overwhelming control panel.
Component properties are relevant when reuse needs to be combined with content variation. They work well for navigation, hero sections, cards and other recurring patterns. See Components, Webflow's documentation on components and CMS.
