A CMS item is one specific content element in a Webflow CMS Collection. In a Collection for terms, each term is its own CMS item. The item contains the fields defined for the Collection, such as name, slug, main content, image or a connection to a subcategory.
What does a CMS item involve in practice?
The editor fills in the item's fields and publishes it through the Collection Template. The URL is usually created from the slug field, while the content is inserted dynamically into the template. New pages can therefore be created without rebuilding the layout. Quality depends on consistent entry and good editorial routines.
