Microinteractions

Microinteractions are small animated or visual responses to an action. They may include a button changing state, a confirmation after a form submission or an indicator showing that something is loading. They give users information about what the system is doing.

What do microinteractions involve in practice?

In practice, a microinteraction should have a clear function and be connected to a specific action. It should not delay the task or make important information harder to notice. States must also be understandable without movement, and the animation should respect reduced-motion preferences.
