High-fidelity is a detailed sketch or prototype that is close to the finished solution in appearance and interaction. It may include the correct typography, colours, images, components and realistic transitions.

What does high-fidelity involve in practice?

In practice, high-fidelity is used to test more than structure. The team can assess visual hierarchy, content, interactions, accessibility and how the brand works in context. It should still be possible to change the solution before it is fully built.

High-fidelity is relevant when the most important structural decisions have been made and the details need quality assurance. See Low-fidelity, UI design and User testing.
