A CMS Collection is a group of content with the same structure. A Collection can contain terms, services, people or projects, for example. Each content element is called a CMS item, and the fields in the Collection determine what information each element can contain.
What does a CMS Collection involve in practice?
In practice, fields are created for names, text, images, SEO data and relationships to other Collections. The Collection should reflect how the content will actually be managed, not only how one page looks. When the structure is well considered, one Collection Template can display many pages with the same basic setup.
A CMS Collection is relevant when several content items should follow the same model and be published efficiently. Clarify which fields are necessary and how the content should be connected. See Webflow's documentation on CMS Collections, Reference field and Multi-reference.
